A vintage Italian movie poster of ''The Rains of Ranchipur'', a 1955 American drama film directed by Jean Negulesco and starring Lana Turner and Richard Burton. The film is a loose remake of the 1939 film "The Rains Came," which was based on a novel by Louis Bromfield.

Set in the fictional Indian city of Ranchipur, the story revolves around a wealthy American widow named Edwina Esketh, played by Lana Turner, who arrives in Ranchipur with her friend, the bohemian artist Rama Safti, portrayed by Richard Burton. Edwina is seeking to escape her troubled past and start afresh in India. Rama Safti, on the other hand, is a compassionate and charismatic doctor who is dedicated to helping the local population.
